Copy files the smart way.
Windows' own copy dialog moves one file at a time, even when you're dropping fifty onto a fast SSD that could handle them all at once. FastCopy detects the drive and copies several files in parallel on an SSD — full speed, no waiting — while staying serial on a spinning disk, where parallel copies would thrash the heads and end up slower than Windows, not faster.

Windows copies one file at a time. FastCopy doesn't.
Explorer's copy dialog always runs one file at a time, no matter what drive you're on. FastCopy checks the drive first: several files at once on an SSD, where the extra parallelism is free speed — and back to one at a time on a spinning disk, where parallel copies would thrash the heads and run slower than Windows, not faster.

Faster than Windows on an SSD
Windows' copy dialog always moves one file at a time. FastCopy detects the drive via a real seek-penalty probe and runs several files in parallel on an SSD, while staying serial on a spinning disk — where Windows' own approach is already correct, and blind parallelism would just thrash the heads and lose.
Pause, resume, cancel
Pause genuinely freezes the transfer mid-copy. Cancel leaves zero partial bytes at the destination.
Optional integrity check
Turn on "verify after copy" to hash-check source and destination and flag any mismatch.
Replaces Ctrl+V in File Explorer
Copy files anywhere in Windows, then paste into any Explorer folder as usual — FastCopy takes the transfer instead of the built-in copy dialog. No shell extension, no admin, and Ctrl+X still moves the way it always did.
Lives in the tray
Starts with Windows and stays out of the way. Closing the window keeps it running so paste is always handled.
Conflict handling, up front
Overwrite, Skip, Overwrite-if-newer, or Keep-both — chosen once, not decided file-by-file mid-copy.
Every feature below was exercised in a real, running session.
Not just compiled and shipped — driven end to end and checked against what actually happened on disk.
Cancel leaves zero bytes behind
Verified live: canceling an in-flight 8GB copy left zero bytes at the destination — no partial files to clean up.
Pause actually pauses
Confirmed during a live 8GB transfer: bytes-copied genuinely froze for over a second, then resumed exactly where it left off.
One bad folder doesn't kill the job
The tree walk is resilient — a folder you don't have permission to read costs you that folder, not the whole scan.
Skip means skip
The conflict-policy picker was verified end to end: re-copying with Skip correctly left 4 pre-existing files untouched.
Free space, checked up front
A doomed copy fails immediately if the destination can't hold it — not halfway through a large job.
Byte-for-byte, every time
The automated test suite checks copied content matches the source byte-for-byte and preserves directory structure, on every run.

Free to download and free to keep — no licence key, no trial, nothing held back for a paid tier.
Donating is optional and unlocks nothing — it just keeps a one-person project going. Any amount, whenever you like.
